In order to reinforce the exchanges between the two countries in several fields, HAROPA PORT and INTERPORTO PADOVA signed a memorandum of understanding with main objective: the creation of a railroad line between the Veneto and Normandy regions.

This ambition is in line with HAROPA PORT's strategic project and the development of modal shift.

  1. Organization of workshops, studies, exchanges of best practices.... The agreement will also allow the parties to collaborate on 4 priority areas :
    intermodality and logistics ;
  2. foreign trade ;
  3. European policies ;
  4. energy transition

    Located at the crossroads of two very important routes, Rome-Venice and Turin-Trieste, the city of Padua has a very dense economic fabric of numerous logistics companies. INTERPORTO PADOVA is a major player in multimodal logistics in the region :
    > 1.1 million sqm of space;
    > more than 250,000 m² dedicated to the activities of the two intermodal terminals;
    > 270,000 m² of logistics warehouses;
    > nearly 5,500 unit trains each year connected to the main Italian and North European ports.

This signing follows a first move organized in 2019.
