A conference dedicated to the maritime sector’s low-carbon transition

The conference will bring together a wide range of stakeholders from the maritime value chain: port authorities, shipowners, manufacturers, energy companies, public institutions, and more.

Discussions will focus on concrete solutions and strategies implemented to achieve maritime transport decarbonization targets, in line with the requirements of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), which sets the course for reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the sector.

HAROPA PORT engaged in the discussions

Tommaso Spanevello, the port’s Head of European Affairs, will speak at the roundtable titled “Strategic Ports: Accelerating Decarbonization in the Maritime Industry” on June 3.

On this occasion, he will highlight the actions undertaken by HAROPA PORT to support the energy transition of its operations as well as that of its entire ecosystem, such as:

  •  the development of quay electrification solutions;
  •  and support for the emergence of alternative fuels (hydrogen, e-methanol).

He will also speak on behalf of the European BREEZE project by INTERREG Europe, dedicated to the deployment of shore-side power supply solutions for ships. A brief presentation will outline the project’s objectives, the partners involved, and the key progress already made.
