Mixed-use quays

Mixed-use quays are waterside areas made available to companies wishing to use the river from time to time for goods transport. They enable materials and goods to be transhipped, promoting reduced road congestion and increased air quality.

Mixed-use quays are also stopping points for passenger transport and venues for occasional recreational activities. These quays require advance booking, and the signing of a public site occupancy agreement is also necessary for periods that may range from a day to a month, possibly renewable.

Mixed-use docks may be open to walkers outside normal operating hours and if so, they must be freed up and cleaned at the end of the use period. It is through such mixed use that the Paris Ports intend to open up the river to the city and its residents.
