The extension of Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy's manufacturing facility in Le Havre marks a new milestone in the development of the offshore wind sector along the Seine corridor. This industrial investment confirms the attractiveness of the port area and illustrates HAROPA PORT's role in supporting both the energy transition and industrial development.

A new phase in the development of the offshore wind sector 

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy's (SGRE) facility in Le Havre has reached a new stage with the inauguration of its extension.

The project adds 12,700 sq.m of floor space, bringing the total footprint of the SGRE site to nearly 80,000 sq.m.

This extension represents an investment of €200 million and will create 200 additional jobs. 

An industrial facility serving renewable energy

The site will notably manufacture 115-metre recyclable blades designed for the latest generation of offshore wind turbines.

This investment also reflects the growth of a strategic sector supporting Europe's energy transition and the development of a decarbonised maritime industry.

Alongside the President of Siemens Energy France and Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, Édouard Philippe, Mayor of Le Havre and President of Le Havre Seine Métropole, and Roland Lescure, Minister for the Economy, Finance and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty, Benoît Rochet, Chief Executive Officer of HAROPA PORT, welcomed a project that forms part of a broader transformation of the port area's industrial and energy landscape
