development : At Val-de-la-Haye (in Normandy), Sénalia commissions a new shiploader to reduce dust emissions during grain loading operations

Installed at the Lecureur terminal in Val-de-la-Haye (Seine-Maritime, France), this new dust-suppression ship loader marks another milestone in the modernization of the site's grain-handling facilities. The project was carried out by Lecureur Silos with an investment of €4.2 million and coordinated by Sénalia, operator of the Val-de-la-Haye grain export terminal.

A new ship loader designed to reduce dust emissions

The new Neuero ship loader, with a loading capacity of 1,000 tonnes per hour, is equipped with a grain accumulation system. This technology provides greater control over the grain flow during vessel loading operations and significantly reduces dust emissions generated during the transfer of grain to ships.

With this new equipment, Lecureur Silos and Sénalia continue their efforts to reduce the environmental impact of terminal operations and address concerns raised by residents of neighboring communities.

A project delivered over several months

The replacement of the ship loader was carried out in several phases. Dismantling of the former unit began in early 2026, followed by the installation of the new equipment throughout spring and summer 2026.

The new ship loader arrived in component parts in spring 2026. These elements were first transported to Rouen, where they were prepared and pre-assembled on the Bassin aux Bois quay to form the main structural sections.

The assembled sections were then transported by barge along the Seine River to the Val-de-la-Haye terminal. These transport operations were conducted with the support of Pierre Menguy Levage, a specialist heavy-lift and handling contractor.

On site, the final assembly was carried out with the involvement of Mediaco, including the use of a high-capacity crane to lift and position the various sections of the ship loade

After several months of work, the new equipment was commissioned in September 2026.

A €4.2 million investment

The project represents a €4.2 million investment by Lecureur Silos. Sénalia, as operator of the Val-de-la-Haye terminal, supervised the works throughout the project.

This new installation forms part of the equipment renewal program deployed across the grain export facilities operated by Sénalia in Rouen.
