event : A Brazilian delegation visits Le Havre

On Tuesday, September 9, 2025, HAROPA PORT welcomed to Le Havre a delegation of nearly 100 Brazilian representatives. This visit follows the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the French Ministry for Transport and the Brazilian Ministry of Ports and Airports to establish a Green Shipping Corridor.

The day’s program included a presentation of HAROPA PORT’s activities and development projects, followed by a boat tour of the port facilities, with a special focus on Port 2000.

This event reflects the cooperation initiated between France and Brazil in the maritime and port sectors and illustrates the shared commitment to strengthening economic and logistics exchanges between the two countries.
 

The creation of a Green Shipping Corridor between France and Brazil aims to:

  • promote the use of low- or zero-emission fuels,
  • encourage the development of innovative technologies to reduce vessels’ carbon footprint,
  • strengthen cooperation between ports, shipowners, researchers, and industry stakeholders,
  • accelerate the implementation of sustainable solutions along major international maritime routes.

With its terminals and multimodal connections, HAROPA PORT stands as a strategic link in global trade flows. The visit of this Brazilian delegation highlights the port’s attractiveness and its role as a key partner in developing tomorrow’s sustainable corridors.

The agreement signed between the two countries is part of the global strategy to decarbonize maritime transport and supports the International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) objective of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.
