international : Stéphane Raison appointed Vice-president for Europe of the IAPH

On Thursday November 2, Stéphane Raison, CEO of HAROPA PORT, took over the vice presidency of the International Association of ports and Harbors (IAPH) for a two years term.

His appointment was officially approved by the organization’s members at the Annual General Meeting of Ports, held in Abu Dhabi. This is the first time that a French player hold this position, a further sign of the determination of France and HAROPA PORT to be at the forefront for the developments in port sector.  

His mission: to promote synergies between European ports

In his capacity of VP, he will foster inter-port cooperation between the different AIPH regions, and ensure the sharing of the good practices regarding climate change and energy transition. That will allow all the ports to capitalize and replicate more efficiency technologies and processes already in place and that demonstrated they efficacity.

He will be earmarked by the following topics : 

  • greening of ports and transports,
  • port as a tool for the reindustrialization,
  • acceptance of port activities,
  • innovation & reinforcement of R&D,
  • safety & security, with a focus on cybersecurity. 
     

IAPH is a global alliance of ports, representing some 177 ports and 147 port-related businesses in 84 countries. It aims to be the industry reference for sharing best practices of the most advanced and sophisticated ports on the planet.
