A centenary celebrating a century of exchange and innovation
On Thursday, 20 November 2025, the BCR will celebrate its 100th anniversary at an evening event held at the Historial Jeanne d'Arc. A veritable institution for professionals in the sector, the Rouen Commodities Exchange has been bringing together players in the agri-food and agro-industrial sector for a century: manufacturers, logisticians, traders and economic operators involved in the trade of agricultural raw materials.
Over the past decade, this modernized Bourse has become a key forum for dialogue, market analysis and strategic insight within the port and logistics ecosystem. It plays a major role in strengthening a Norman industry that is innovative, competitive and fully connected to international trade.
Rouen, strategic hub of Western Europe's leading grain export port
The dynamics of the BCR are directly based on the performance of HAROPA PORT. The port, at the heart of grain flows, is an essential link in the French and European agri-food chain.
A recognised leader, HAROPA PORT is the leading grain export port in Western Europe, a position made possible by:
- efficient port infrastructure,
- high-quality logistics and maritime services,
- proximity to production areas in Normandy and the Paris region,
- a sector structured around complementary players.
A particularly successful October 2025
The statistics speak for themselves: over 800,000 tonnes of grain were exported from Rouen in October 2025.
A shared vision for the future of the agro-industrial sector
Beyond the statistics, the centenary of the Bourse de Commerce highlights a forum for discussion that has become essential for anticipating changes in the sector:
energy transition, decarbonisation of maritime transport, new market expectations, regulatory changes, logistics innovations...
The BCR remains a strategic location where a collective vision is being developed, in close collaboration with local actors and HAROPA PORT
