maritime : In Le Havre, TNMSC continues to modernize with 10 new hybrid straddle carriers

On September 25, 2025, TNMSC took delivery of 10 new hybrid straddle carriers, out of the 20 expected this year. This latest-generation equipment complements the 48 units already deployed by the group between 2022 and 2024, helping to modernize Port 2000 and increase its operational efficiency.

More efficient and durable straddle carriers

These hybrid straddle carriers combine performance and environmental benefits thanks to innovative engines that reduce CO₂ emissions while optimizing fuel consumption.

A successful delivery

Build in Poland by Konecranes, the 10 units were transported to Le Havre aboard the Briese Chartering, a vessel specializing in the transport of heavy cargo. Their unloading carried out successfully, mobilized teams from TNMSC and the handling company DN (Dockers de Normandie).
After a testing phase, they will be put into service and will be soon joined by the delivery of the remaining 10 straddle carriers expected in mid-November.

A strategic investment for Port 2000

This order is part of TiL MSC's €900 million investment plan to modernize its Le Havre terminals. Combined with the new mega-gantry cranes delivered in 2025- with four more still to come, these straddle carriers will help streamline loading/unloading operations, support the growth in volumes handled, and at the same time position the TNMSC terminal within the ecological and energy transition led by MSC and HAROPA PORT.
